Coming to the end of our journey, we visit one of the last remaining locations: Australia. Australia is made up of different regions, but they generally share similar dishes, so we can look at what they offer as a whole.
There are many sweet treats on offer, such as Tim Tams, which are chocolate biscuits that you can drink beverages like milk through, adding flavour. You can also find fairy bread, which is bread with hundreds and thousands sprinkles put on top.
You can find the very controversial Vegemite, which is said most people either love or hate. This can be put on toast or sandwiches to add flavour. It’s so controversial that people have made a saying out of it: “It’s like Vegemite — you either love it or hate it.”
Lastly, there is a variety of meats that we probably wouldn’t eat in the UK. The first is roast lamb, which is not only a staple there but also here in the UK. There is also kangaroo, a type of red meat widely available in supermarkets and fancy restaurants in Australia.
Only one article left, but tomorrow’s surprise will be great. Tune in tomorrow for the last article and finale of the series.
