The Evolution of Entertainment

In our spare time, we find ways to entertain ourselves. Generally with our favourite hobbies, but have you ever wondered what hobbies people had years ago?

Many of the fun and exciting things we have today were not around years ago, so what was there to do?

Before Christ, over 2000 years ago, people would have used song, dance and paintings to entertain. This would express people's personalities and their culture.

In the upcoming years, drama and craftsmanship became more common. Plays in theatres such as the Globe Theatre were performed weekly in the 16th century. Also, coming closer to modern times, more games like bowling took their early forms, and toys for children began to become more popular.

Finally, in modern day, the world of entertainment has been taken over by digitalisation, bringing video games and TV. Many people enjoy playing evolving games like Mario and watching their favourite shows, programmes, films or something else on TV.

If people didn't come up with all these new ideas, we would find our everyday life boring, so it's important to be thankful. In the future we will keep evolving new technology and forms of entertainment which will benefit us for years to come.
