The Stamford Street Allotment Society is a community-driven organisation based in the heart of Ellesmere Port. Their mission is dedicated to creating a garden space available for people of all backgrounds, races and abilities where they can unite, tending to fresh produce all together. To them, the connection in their diverse community is something that they take pride in, whether experienced or not.
Over the last year, they have been collaborating with TCV (The Conservative Volunteers) in an effort to create a wheelchair-accessible garden in which the locals can flourish. Currently, a total of £14,625 has been raised, allowing them to include a range of features such as wheelchair-friendly paths, available vegetable bed foundations and sensory areas (for example, pergolas, ponds and wildflower gardens).
Fortunately, the project is close to finishing, but they are calling on green thumbs. Not just gardeners, but skilled builders and both budding and blooming artists to assist them in the creation of this special section for wheelchair users, children and people with disabilities. If you believe you fit the description or just wish to lend a helping hand, then your support will be greatly appreciated!

"It's a great way to bring the community together, and not only is it benefiting them, but it's benefiting the environment."
The allotment creates regular competitions, which all can join in with. They also host regular group meetings, which you can learn more about on their website. The great thing about this place is that people of all ages can participate. From 80-year-olds to 3-month-olds, they offer a service that is truly welcoming to all. Extending on this point, they have a diverse range of people, from all different areas; they all enjoy making dishes for each other and trying out new foods from all over the world. It was an incredible place which I visited... Possibly you would like to pay a visit? Maybe.. get a garden? Learn more on their website.
