Local MP Campaigns For A Better Town Centre

Local MP, Justin Madders, is campaigning for a better town centre. Justin Madders posted a video on social media this morning explaining that millions of pounds of public money are being invested in Ellesmere Port's town centre, which we have already seen with the all-new Ellesmere Port Market.

Justin says that "millions of pounds have been promised", yet the Adhan Group, the owners of the Port Arcades, are not wanting to play their part in changing the Port's town centre.

The unpretentious town centre has been standing for many decades, but the Port Arcades have been standing since the 1980s as a large shopping centre. In 2020, the Port Arcades were put up for auction with a £3 million guide price. The Adhan Group then bought the shopping centre, proposing multi-million pound refurbishments for lighting, internal and external cosmetic overhauls, and more — we have not seen this yet.

"Change has started to happen, but nothing's happening here in the Port Arcades."

Justin Madders has written and emailed the Adhan Group many times but has never received a reply - he can be described as an advocate for Ellesmere Port residents.

As well as the millions promised for the Port Arcades, the old B&M Bargains site was planned to be removed completely and replaced with lots of pop-up pubs and cafes for socialising, but "none of it has happened".

Justin Madders urges you to sign his petition today to deliver the promised budget.
