Food Around The World - Day 3 / South America

Published on 28 January 2026 at 22:06

Picking up from last time in North America, you can head through Mexico into South America, which offers completely different cuisine. Join me on an adventure across the continent, exploring different dishes and ingredients and learning about their backgrounds along the way.

Starting in the largest part of South America – Brazil, home to the world's largest rainforest and 2nd longest river. Here, they can offer bean and meat stew, grilled meats, and a type of cheesy bread.

Next is Peru, famous for the connection it has with the popular film Paddington. Usual cuisine you may find is fresh fish cured in lime (Ceviche) and beef heart skewers.

Following on is Bolivia, which has a similar creation to what you would find in France. These are fresh pastries, of course, but they also offer Andean, which is a potato dish.

The closing destination today is Chile, which is a very long and thin country in the southern part of South America. Here you will find a type of corn pie and a variety of different stews.

As usual, read along tomorrow to find out more information about food globally. Only four continents remain, so where to next?

Thank you for reading!
