Many of us (especially younger people) love to play video games on our gaming consoles like PlayStations, Xboxes, Switches and more. Gaming is considered a hobby that is very enjoyable, but is it actually a good thing to do?
Some people can view gaming as a waste of time and something that you should only do as a treat, and they are partially right. It's important to balance not just gaming but any of your hobbies with other jobs so you don't become addicted.
Others may think there is nothing wrong with gaming and you can spend all your time playing; yet again, this is partially correct. Like above, gaming shouldn't be all that you spend your time doing, but it also does teach many important lessons to people in a fun way.
Some really popular games like Minecraft and Fortnite are great examples of this, even if you don't realise it. Firstly, Minecraft inspires people to be creative and find a way around problems that may occur. Fortnite, however, teaches you to plan ahead, multitask and use your spatial reasoning skills with the fights you end up in.
Looking at the points above, the conclusion is that gaming is a great hobby to enjoy and share with friends. As long as you don't play too much, it also teaches important lessons and concepts in a fun way.
