Across the globe, many people take part in sport, whether that be football, boxing, swimming or something else, but what are the most extreme sports? An extreme sport is a sport that involves high speed, height or potential danger if not planned correctly.
One of the most famous extreme sports is skydiving, where one or more people jump off a plane from a high altitude and deploy parachutes midair. In 2006 a group of 400 brave people took on the daring feat and all skydived together at once to set an unbroken world record.
Another sport you may have heard of is climbing, where people scale cliffs or mountains, facing harsh conditions, extreme heights and more. The fastest time to take on the most challenging feat (climbing Mount Everest) was set at 10 hours and 56 minutes to reach the peak!
Finally, a sport you probably will have never heard of: wingsuit flying. In this sport you get to a point of high elevation and then jump, gliding through the air like a bird. The world record for furthest distance travelled is 33.22 miles, which was done in just one jump.
There are many more extreme sports out there to explore, and if you want, you can try one. Beware, though; they can get really scary.
