Ellesmere Port Round Table's 10 Day Sleigh

Published on 2 January 2026 at 02:40

Each year, the Ellesmere Port Round Table and volunteers walk around different estates, raising money to make Ellesmere Port better. Volunteers follow Santa's float, and watch as kid's faces light up with joy.

Rosie, Ellie, Sophy, Maggie and I volunteered on the sleigh over several nights. Whilst on the sleigh, you could see the pure excitement and happiness just by walking past somebody.

Imagine this. A santa float, with loud Christmas songs, santa waving to kids, as they wave back, giving him a high five to get the 'Christmas magic', several volunteers following behind, dancing, singing. WOW! What a vision to imagine. There were moments where we could laugh, moments where we all said 'aww!' in unison, and that alone just shown the community spirit across the 10 nights.

Joining Ellesmere Port Round Table on the first night of the sleigh, was Koala North West. The partnership was for the charity's Toy Appeal, where over 150 gifts were collected - all thanks to you!

Sponsoring EPRT throughout their sleigh were Urenco, Entwine Live, NB Vending Solutions, Wirral Car Sales & The Gunners Arms Pub.

Over ten magical sleigh rides, EPRT raised £6,602.60. The Round Table say "Thank you to everyone and especailly to the members of the Round Table family who spent hours volunteering this month in the community for such a great cause."

Here are some funny, silly & wacky moments we got on camera whilst volunteering on the sleigh!

Shout out to Stephen McMillan, Ross Hughes, Lee (the best elf), Phil, Jamie, Richard & more!
