Before Christmas, Rosie and I visited WelcomeMe in Hooton to join them at their annual Christmas Fair.
WelcomeMe is a meeting centre for people living with mild to moderate memory difficulties and somebody who cares about them. The Centre, which was opened in 2020, does at least one session per week so that both members can come to share joys, worries and laughter.
Whilst at the Christmas Fair, we spoke to an event-goer who told us that the sessions were a 'good chance to get out of the house' and that it has 'helped them in ways that could not be described'. After speaking to several of the group's members, we understood what a great environment WelcomeMe had.
At the fair, there were many stalls. Some of these stalls were held by the company's volunteers, whilst others were from third-party services. A few of the businesses that attended were Karmiq, Lynn's Novelty Knits, Rose's Crafts and Willaston Ladies' Choir.
The event was truly an amazing place to be, with lovely people surrounding you, welcoming members and a cosy environment. Attending this event made Christmas feel more like Christmas!
We would like to thank Sandy for inviting us to this enjoyable function!
