Last Saturday, 6th September, Josh and I met with local residents of Ellesmere Port to do a litterpick of the surrounding area of Deansgate. Expeiencing this together was rather exciting, seeing as though we were sorting around the discared rubbish of others, it gave us time to speak without the disturbance of a phone.
Lasting an hour, the litterpick worked out greatly to help the area and showed what a difference a small effort can make from just a few people. Our team, including 2 of our Ellesmere Port representatives Krish Fischer and Justin Madders, met at 2pm on the corner of Deansgate and Regent street to start the cleaning. We were also provided rubbish pickers, hi-vis vests and heavy-duty bin bags.
All together, as a group of 9, had filled 12 bags to the brim.
This article is meant to serve as message. A message to our community that littering only does bad, harming our animals, plants and environment. As the people that live here, the least we can do is clean up after ourselves.
