On Sunday, the 22nd of June, Jake and I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah and Sophie, full-time nurses who own Pop Up Paint and Pour. We were able to gather some information as well as people's reviews and experiences at the place from the people who participated on the day.

Sarah and Sophie started this due to inspiration. After visiting many painting areas in Chester, they realised the popularity of them and decided to give it a go. They asked a few friends and organised their first Pop Up and Paint, which has led them to this point of success. "It is difficult sometimes to juggle everyday life as well as making sure everything is right for people to enjoy the experience," is something they have told us. After every event, they have mentioned how it's hard to ensure the venue is set up, tidied and has what it needs, but after all, watching someone be proud and happy at what they have achieved is worth it. From their own experience, they know how important it is to take time for yourself. Painting is a great hobby that allows you to focus on something else other than the troubles of life as well as meet new people. It's a feel-good activity that is very inclusive and relaxing, allowing you to spend time with family/friends and end up with a personalised craft.
In the past, Sarah and Sophie have hosted many events. For example:
- Team meetings
- Family events
- Birthdays
And much more...
I believe what they are doing is a great opportunity for people of all ages to come, sit down and paint. Coincidentally, they have partnered with Blades Down, who happens to be our partner too, to organise different wellbeing activities and events. "It's a mixture of different people."
This person told us they had found it on Facebook and decided to join. After the first session, they were desperate to come back and raved about how it was such a great thing to do, as Ellesmere Port didn't have many events like this.
"I just love being artistic." This person mentioned the arrangement of music, paint, dabbers, brushes and the socialising. Meeting different types of people who had come for different reasons, all for the same thing, is a humbling experience, as it shows just how alike we all are.
Concluding this article, I really recommend trying this out. Not only is it to support the lovely owners, who work so hard to provide for the venue with pots, paints, drinks and much more, but also because this is a great benefit to your mental health. We have talked about how important it is to care for yourself SO many times and that mental health is most important. It will be fun to get out of the house and just paint.
So why don't you try this out and tell us how it was?
